The main recognition has been the first prize awarded to Ignasi Llord\u00e9s Pav\u00f3n in the \u201cBest Technical Content\u201d category, within the Young Talents space. The participation has also dealt with the rehabilitation of historic buildings, climate shelters, decarbonization, resilience and energy transition, during the 2026 edition.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An award for technical content and young talent<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Ignasi Llord\u00e9s Pav\u00f3n<\/strong> , project engineer at Wattega, presented to J\u00f3venes Talentos the rehabilitation of the Pavell\u00f3 de la Pur\u00edssima, in the Historic Site of the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. The activity gives visibility to the young talent of the associated companies and allows the presentation of real facilities engineering projects. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The presentation won first prize in the <strong>\u201cBest Technical Content\u201d<\/strong> category of the first edition of the \u201cPremios J\u00f3venes Talentos\u201d by Daikin AC Spain, S.A. The project addresses how to incorporate comfort and energy efficiency into a heritage building without altering its architectural interpretation. The presentation highlighted geothermal production, the location of the equipment in barely visible technical spaces and the use of existing routes to integrate the installations. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/wattega.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IVCongreso_Ing-Inst_232-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10895\" style=\"width:1140px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">New installations in historic buildings<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eric Ruiz, Project Manager at Wattega, spoke at the round table <strong>\u201cNew energies in historic buildings\u201d<\/strong> . The session proposed a dialogue between architecture and engineering on the implementation of energy systems in heritage buildings. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The debate included the alternatives studied, the decision criteria, regulatory compliance and the tensions between technical needs and architectural preservation. The common framework was to achieve comfort, energy efficiency and sustainability while respecting the historical value of the buildings. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/wattega.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IVCongreso_Ing-Inst_392-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10898\" style=\"width:1140px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Equipment ready to face the heat<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carla Garcia, sustainability consultant, and Ivan Capdevila, director of Energy and Sustainability, were part of the session <strong>&#8220;The equipment as climate shelters: renovation and reconfiguration of buildings to adapt them to climate change&#8221;<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Garcia gave the introductory talk on climate adaptation in the face of rising temperatures. The session combined three talks with a co-creation workshop on the renovation of existing facilities, with special attention to energy and water installations. The session applied a collaborative methodology to different types of public buildings to generate innovative and applicable actions.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"683\" src=\"https:\/\/wattega.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IVCongreso_Ing-Inst_326-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10901\" style=\"width:1140px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Technologies for a more flexible energy system<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manuel Mar\u00edn, Project Manager of Technical Consulting, and Joel Nadal, Innovation technician, participated in <strong>\u201cInnovative technologies for decarbonization, resilience and energy transition\u201d<\/strong> . The session organized the challenges of the sector into three vectors: electrification of production, flexibility of demand and deployment of energy storage. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the technologies discussed were fifth-generation district networks, which connect buildings capable of consuming, producing, recovering or storing energy, and thermal storage, which allows its use to be shifted over time. Flexible demand management through digitalization and control was also addressed. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"638\" src=\"https:\/\/wattega.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/IVCongreso_Ing-Inst_726-1024x638.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10904\"
