The Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge, through the Biodiversity Foundation, has given the green light to the Sant Boi Respira + Verd project, which aims to renaturalize the municipality, promote urban biodiversity and improve the connection between the urban center and the natural environment, including forest, agricultural and river areas.

The grant, totaling €3,743,010.99, was drawn up by the ERF-Energy & Sustainability consulting firm, as an expert in environmental consulting and sustainable city strategies. The Center for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Sant Joan de Déu Health Park have collaborated in the project.

According to the project, Sant Boi will obtain 26,000 m² of new green spaces and will improve the conditions of 39,000 m² of existing spaces.
