A pioneering project that combines winemaking tradition and sustainable innovation in the Empord\u00e0 region<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/h3>\n

Vins i Caves Perelada is an internationally recognized winery that has always been motivated by a vocation for making great wines and a commitment to innovation. The blend of these values culminated in 2021 in the construction of a winery integrated into the farm that stands out for its architectural purity and respect for the landscape. <\/span><\/p>\n

The new winery has quickly moved to the forefront of European winemaking by being the first to obtain LEED GOLD environmental and energy certification, thanks to the high standards of sustainability and efficiency in its construction, operation and maintenance. ERF-WATTEGA participated as responsible for the winery’s environmental and energy optimization and environmental certification.<\/span><\/p>\n

The key strategies for achieving GOLD status were landscape integration, minimal water consumption, low energy consumption and the use of low-impact materials.<\/span><\/p>\n

Respect for the landscape<\/span> and emotional experience<\/span><\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The integration of the landscape<\/span> is achieved formally and chromatically with the partial undergrounding of the winery<\/span> and the adaptation to the relief<\/span>, creating outdoor spaces with permeable soils and native plant species <\/span> or those adapted to the Mediterranean climate with minimum water consumption<\/span>., 90% below the usual gardening. The respect <\/span>for the landscape and the emotional experience for the visitor have been the pillars that have marked the foundations of the project.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

LEED GOLD<\/span> Certification<\/span><\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n

LEED (<\/span>Leadership<\/span> in <\/span>Energy<\/span> and<\/span> Environmental<\/span> Design<\/span>) is a certification<\/span> voluntary energy and environmental granted<\/span>by <\/span>th<\/span>e<\/span>U.S. Green Building <\/span>Council<\/span>. <\/span>Provides a framework for identifying and implementing sustainable solutions<\/span> during all phases of a building’s life: design, construction, operation and maintenance. <\/span>In the case of the winery <\/span>Perelada<\/span>, they have gone one step further by obtaining the certification LEED G<\/span>OLD<\/span> thanks to several key parameters:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
