We are looking for an experienced professional who wants to join a young, dynamic, and committed team, where a great working atmosphere and collaboration are an essential part of how we do things.

We are looking for a motivated Junior R&D Project Engineer with a strong interest in the intersection of energy and digital technologies; particularly artificial intelligence and advanced analytics applied to energy systems and buildings.

KEY RESPONSABILITIES

Project Execution:

  • Participate in the technical implementation of European, national, and private R&D projects.
  • Support the development and validation of innovative solutions in energy systems, buildings, and industrial applications.
  • Contribute to project deliverables, technical reports, and scientific documentation.
  • Assist in literature reviews, state-of-the-art analyses, and technology assessments.
  • Participate in technical meetings with project partners and stakeholders.


Digitalization and AI activities:

  • Develop data analysis workflows and digital tools for energy applications.
  • Support the development of optimization algorithms and AI-based solutions.
  • Contribute to the implementation of predictive models, machine learning applications, and intelligent control strategies.
    Collaborate in the development of digital twins and data-driven methodologies.
  • Support the integration and testing of AI tools and frontier AI technologies within innovation projects.


Proposal support:

  • Contribute to the preparation of new project proposals and funding applications.
  • Assist in technical writing, background research, and preparation of technical annexes.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Energy Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Telecommunications Engineering, or basic sciences such as Mathematics or Physics, or in another closely related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of professional experience.
  • Previous participation in research projects, internships, master’s thesis, or personal projects related to energy and digitalization will be highly valued.

Languages:

– Spanish: Native or fluent.

– English: Professional proficiency (spoken and written).

– Catalan: Valued.

Technical Skills:

  • Programming skills in Python.
  • Good understanding of data analysis and software development principles.
  • Knowledge of energy systems, buildings, renewable energy, or sustainability concepts.
  • Familiarity with version control tools such as Git is considered an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, APIs, databases, or containerization technologies is valued.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning, or generative AI applications.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), agentic AI systems, or frontier AI technologies.
  • Knowledge of optimization methods, mathematical modelling, or control systems.
  • Experience with digital twins, simulation tools, or data-driven energy modelling.
  • Exposure to libraries and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar technologies.
  • Experience developing personal, academic, or open-source AI projects.
