Advanced Energy Monitoring at the Gran Teatre del Liceu
Tecnología y cultura se dan la mano para hacer del Liceu un referente también en eficiencia energética
Project Overview
The initiative aims to establish a data-driven energy management framework across the theatre’s complex building services, enabling robust real-time visibility into energy and environmental performance.
More than 350 parameters are monitored in real time, covering all key operational areas such as HVAC systems, lighting, stage equipment, offices and support facilities. This integrated approach provides a comprehensive picture of energy consumption and operational status across the venue
Expected Benefits
Data streams from multiple sources are consolidated into the platform, including:
-
Three-phase and single-phase energy meters
-
Environmental sensors (temperature, humidity, CO₂)
-
Existing control systems and PLC signals (setpoints, states and logic)
Using the DEXMA platform, the project enables:
-
Centralised data visualisation through intuitive dashboards
-
Real-time validation of technical control logics
-
Automated alerts and performance reports for energy use and system efficiency
The implementation of this advanced monitoring system is expected to deliver:
-
Improved operational efficiency
-
Early detection of anomalies and unexpected consumption
-
Reduced carbon footprint and progress towards more sustainable operations
This project exemplifies how intelligent monitoring and analytics can transform energy practices in complex cultural buildings, supporting both environmental performance and cost-effective management.
